CSAs

A CSA is a community of individuals who have decided to support a local farm operation so that the farmland becomes the community's farm, with the growers and consumers providing mutual support and sharing the risks and benefits of food production. The CSA’s focus is usually on a system of weekly delivery or pick-up of vegetables and fruit, sometimes dairy products and meat. Some farms even offer time for you to come and visit them and do some picking of your own.

Farmers’ Markets

There are so many reasons to shop at your local farmers market, 

• Less resources (primarily fossil fuels) are expended packaging and transporting local food.
• It supports the local economy - more money remains in our local community.
• It is healthier - processing and preservatives are less important since the food doesn't have to travel so far.
• If for no other reason - IT TASTES BETTER!

We have put together a list of local markets in our area.  If you know of a market that is not on our list, please let us know.  Also, if you know of any changes to schedules or  location from what is listed here, please let us know.  We want to make sure we have the most current information so that we can all get out there and buy fresh and local.
